A fact that buyers should know:

Pool Surfaces mixes ONLY INORGANIC iron, cobalt, chrome, and titanium oxides as pigments that will not fade from exposure to chlorine.

WARNING:

7 out of our 11 competing manufacturers of pool plaster products in the United States (including NPT and Pebble Tec) use the organic, phthalocyanine, blue pigment in their pool finishes to save money.  The organic blue pigment in their finishes breaks down almost immediately when exposed to chlorinated water.

-Because of the use of inorganic pigments for "Tile A:" the color ratio and 'look' is different than "Tile B:" and "Tile C:"

EXPLANATION

-Two 12" x 12" tiles were made up and allowed to cure under water for 30 days and then cut in half in order to have a 'control' for the tests. 

-Both tiles were made using the same ratio of pebble to white portland cement.

-The only difference is the type of pigments used.  

-"Tile A:" contains cobalt and iron oxide pigments

-"Tile B:" contains Phthalocyanine Blue and carbon black pigments.
